Humming the juices of hummus

Now, my beloved,
I am the earth’s progeny;
My nest is the humid,
My flavor is the hummus.


Pulled from its gravidity,
I was made human, with a tether;
I am the seeker of the fluid,
Collecting the sweet vinous,
Aspiring for your nectar.


Ah! my beloved,
I am a child of the heavens,
My chest is light,
My humor in flight.


In defiance of gravity,
A human humming, with a feather;
I am the sipper of the sap,
Collecting the ambrosia,
Aspiring for amrita.


Oh my beloved,
You who are both
The seed and the womb,
The hollow and the whole,
Let me hum from your bosom,
The heavenly juices of hummus!
